D1: -------- // Meet in Marrakech.
Transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
D2: Marrakesh – Aït Bouguemez Happy valley Tighza Tihrza
Minibus transport to Aït M’Ahmed (4h), then to Tihrza (1800m) (7h), with brief visits to the Aït Abbas barn and Sidi Moussa marabout. Lodging at a local house in the Aït Bouguemez valley or camp.
D3: Tihrza-Azib n’Ikkis (2300m) (5h30).
Meeting with our mules caravan and trek along the Assif Arous river. Passing by some supposed portuguese ruins, we reach our camp site near the old Ikkis barn. Lodge or camp.
D4: Azib n’Ikkis-Tarkkedit plateau (2900m) (6h).
We continue our trek with a splendid panorama of the Atlas mountains. After a rest at Tarkkedit col (3450m) we start descending towards the green plateau, where the nomad Berbers Ait Atta usually camp with their herds of goats, sheep, horses and camels. Refuge or camp.
D5: Tarkkedit plateau (2900m) - Jbel M’Goun (4068m) (8h).
We leave camp at dawn to ascend Jbel M’Goun (4068m) (8h), the second highest summit of the Atlas mountains. Although tiring this is a very rewarding experience, highly recommended for the magnificent view. Note: those who choose not to ascend M’Goun will follow with the mules caravan to the next camp site in Iffri n’Ait Hammou, near a cave (2700m) (6h). Camp.
D6: Jbel M’Goun (4068m) - Iffri-Ameskar el Fouqani (2100m) (3h).
Morning rest. We continue through the very lonely Aït Amned valley, following the river with the same name. Around us the scenery is composed of tilled fields, a few houses and an old barn still in good use. Lodge or camp.
D7: Ameskar-Alemdoun (1700m) (5h30).
We enter the Assis n’Imeskar valley, a very dry area. After the little village of Amajgag, we soon reach Alemdoun in a green and cultivated valley, where we camp near a water stream.
D8: Alemdoun-Aguerzaka (1900m) (6h).
Hike along Oued M’Goun river until Aguerzaka, a lively place with beautiful stone houses. You can wander through the fields and meet locals.
D9: Aguerzaka-Tarzout (1860m) (6h30).
Very refreshing trek in the gorges. At first they are wide but soon will get narrower reaching a distance of some 2 mtr. The river flows gently and we will walk in the water at several places.
D10: Tarzout-Taghreft (2135m) (5h30).
Hike along M’Goun river in a green landscape of orange and palm-tree fields. It is worth noticing the Aït M’Goun women, with their tattoos and black costums.
D11: Taghreft-Tighremt n’Ait Ahmed (2300m) (5h).
We continue along river M’Goun valley. Today we camp in Tighremt n’Aït Ahmed, where we will see the ancient collective barn and shepherd huts.
D12: Tighremt n’Aït Ahmed-Tabbant (6h).
We climb to Tizi n’Aït Imi hill (2905m) and pic-nic in the grassland. Then down the juniper forest we arrive to Ait Bouguemez valley where we lodge in a Berber house.

It is about a Trek without notable technical difficulty. It is necessary to be in good physical condition and to be able to go 5 to 8, each day, with a studied rhythm from your guide. We have stops all the walking paths, with 01H30 to 02H00 in midday for rest and lunch pause.
There is always a light back bag where to take minimum of daily needs (gourd or bottle of water, food of race, camera…). All the luggage and food are transported by the mules. When a medical problem (distortion for example), it is always possible to call upon an extra mule. However, it should be known that the ground is not flat, that it is necessary sometimes to go up to climb a collar, that you will find certain stages a little long… In short, you will have physical feelings, it is certain, and it is necessary to have the desire and the spirit of hiking and walking in mountain.
The itinerary indicated will be able to undergo modifications imposed by the mean level of walking of the group, or by the climatic conditions.
Sleeping bag, a large bag with zippers for clothing (not too many clothes in order not to tired mules/dromedaries or car, just needed to change during the trip), warm clothes for cool nights, a small backpack without frame for affairs’s day, walking shoes or sneakers, sandals for camp or/and walking in water, windbreaker, raincoat, polar, personal medication, water bottle (1 liter or 2 liters) or water purification tablets or buy mineral water in villages, sunscreen, a pair of sunglasses, hat or Chech , camera photo / video, a torch (frontal), spare batteries, toiletry and other personal belongings.
